Tomato sauce

Ingredients for 1 L. of sauce:

  • 1,5 Kg. of Canned tomatoes.
  • 15 Cl. Extra vergin olive oil.
  • 200 gr. of Onion.
  • 100 gr. of Selery.
  • 1 Garlic clove.
  • 1 Bay leaf.
  • Salt.
  • 5-6 Leaves of fresh basil.

Method:

  • Clean and chop finely the vegetables.
  • Cook in a casserole with half of the oil and on a low fire the vegetables.
  • Add the tomatoes, the bay leaf, salt to taste and cook for 40-45 minutes.
  • Garnish with the basil.
